ЛENA POTUREMETS (1993, Russia, Rostov-on-Don)
►graduated with a bachelor's degree in «Motion Design & Video» from IED Barcelona (2014-2018). Currently I'm a student at ITMO University (Saint-Petersburg), pursuing the «Art & Science» master's program.
As a
designer, I work for a cultural and scientific projects. As an artist, I use various mediums, including visual programming, video making & photography, VR, DIY devices, light and laser projection, etc. (depending on my needs and ideas that I want to express).
My primary interest lies in the intersection of art, nature, and new technology. I firmly believe in the notion of technological progress as a natural and seamless extension of the evolution of our biosystem. In my work, I strive to create a harmonious coexistence between the natural and artificial worlds, where they intermingle and complement each other organically. By exploring the liminal space of these fields' intersections, I aim to challenge conventional boundaries and preconceived notions of what art and technology can achieve.
Through my creative process, I seek to uncover the inherent beauty and interconnectedness within these seemingly disparate realms. Drawing inspiration from the intricate patterns and dynamics of the natural world, I incorporate technological elements to create immersive and visually captivating experiences. By merging the organic and the artificial, I aspire to create thought-provoking narratives that resonate with audiences and invite them to contemplate the larger implications of this symbiotic relationship. In essence, my artistic practice is a continuous exploration of the balance between the organic and the synthetic, the ancient and the modern, the tangible and the virtual.
Through my work, I strive to inspire a renewed appreciation for the delicate interconnectedness that exists between all aspects of our world and to encourage a deeper understanding of the transformative power of technology in shaping our future.
